When my bike reaches 1,000 miles, I will conside rmyself "graduated" to the point where I can venture out into the city streets... and maybe the freeway. Until then, our trailer is getting a lot of use.
I am finally feeling pretty confident on the winding roads in rural areas, but riding in the city still worries me and riding on the freeway seems too risky at this point. I'm just too small on by bike, and the wind feels like it will rip me off my seat when I hit 60mph. This means we have to trailer our bikes out whenever we ride, so that I can ride only in the sleepy town roads east of San Diego like Ramona and Ocatillo.

I feel the same way and let my truck carry the bike if a freeway is between Point A and Point B. I like your little trailer. Right now I have to have someone put the bike in the truck for me even with the long ramp. I think I might be able to put it in the trailer by myself.

Is the KLX250 a dual sport bike or did you customize a regular dirt bike so it could be street legal?

Yes, that name represents me well. Even before i rode bikes i rode horses for 30 years or so and love to explore. Ive been riding dual sport bikes DR 650, klr 250 which are not available anymore and my trustee xt 225 for 2 years. Must admit had my share of dumping at first but ive gotten to be a pretty good rider. Dirt roads are my thing. Utah was a great experience and riding the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee. Just recently purchased a toy hauler so we can take our bikes wherever we go, wouldnt leave home without them. Do wish i had some females to ride with through. Anyway, life is a journey and I plan to do all I can. Leave a Reply. |
